War always has a negative connotation to it, we think of the numerous deaths and the people fighting for their countries, but we never think about how we affect our environment. Most effects of wars are short term, but the environment is still affected years after the dust has settled on the battleground. During Pearl Harbor in World War II, the USS Arizona was sunk by the japanese, and it contained half a million gallons of oil. It is still leaking to this day, almost 70 years later. In the end the environment is what really takes the toll, not the amount of people that die.
